The condition is a bit worn: some marks, creases, tears, and just general signs of age. There is no date that I can see.
The item is a folder, gray/blue in color, measuring approx. 15" x 10", covering a reproduction of General Lee's order number 9. On the back is imprinted "Facsimile" and the publisher name.
The folder also contains several pages stapled in the center with a brief description of the history, including excerpts from General Grant's memoirs. The last page includes the following information:

For permission to reproduce this draft of Lee's General Order No. 9 we are indebted to Mr. Forest H. Sweet, Battle Creek, Michigan, well-known collector, dealer, and enthusiastic cherisher of documents that make history vital and vivid. Various copies of this General Order were made, and bear Lee's signature, but this one has two virtues: first, its excellent physical condition; and, second, the evidence on its face that it passed through military channels to Brigadier General W.H. Stevens, Chief Engineer, Army of Northern Virginia, and is therefore an official copy and not merely a 'souvenir.'"

To receive a re-fund for any Lakeside Classic Books.com purchase with which you are not satisfied, you must return the item to the address listed below. We recommend that you re-wrap the item in its original packaging for return shipment. Please include the packing slip and indicate the reason for return for fastest processing and shipping re-fund, if applicable. We will send you an e-mail to notify you of your re-fund once we have received and processed the returned item. You can expect a re-fund in a check form within two to three weeks from our receipt of your return. Please note that we will re-fund shipping costs only if the return is a result of our error.
Late Returns:
Returns shipped more than 10 days after you receive an item will be subject to a 15% re-stocking fee. U.S. Returns (shipped to any U.S. address, via any method): Please re-wrap the item in its original packaging and ship to us via USPS Media mail.
