First Edition. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. vii, pp207, green cloth boards with gilt lettering on spine, gilt ruling and book emblem on front board, very slight shelf wear, corners gently rubbed, slight rubbing to head and heal of spine, t.e.g., pages untrimmed, frontis with tissue guard, very tip of corner of tissue to frontis creased as well as the tip of the corner to the title page, pages untrimmed, t.e.g., internally clean and bright.

Published in 1906 by Reilly & Britton Co. of Chicago, there are 264 pages. This title was published in response to the favorable reception of the Lakeside Classic edition which according to the preface ...”Its appearance was the signal for an increased demand for the book which the limited edition was in no way prepared to fill. An arrangement was therefore made between the Reilly & Britton Co. and the Lakeside Press whereby this and the remaining volumes of the Patriotic Classic Series, in their new editions, will be in the hands of the Reilly & Britton Co.”

In very good original dark green cloth with title in gilt on the spine and the publishers device on the front cover. The gilt is bright and there is a small scruff on the rear cover. Top edges are gilt. Internally the pages, save for a previous owners signature in pencil on first free flyleaf, are clean and bright. The binding is tight and the hinges are fine
